A mood tracker without streaks or scores
Most mood tracker apps keep score: a streak to protect, a number out of ten, a prompt asking how you feel today and why. Tinge does none of that. You tap a colour when a feeling comes, as often as it comes, and by evening your day has drawn itself as a river. Nothing is counted, graded or owed.
Twelve feelings, one tap each
Tinge has twelve feelings, each with its own colour: joy, gratitude, surprise, love, calm, anger, fear, anxiety, loneliness, sadness, disgust and guilt. A single tap logs a passing mood at this moment; tapping the same colour again and again swells it, so a feeling that filled the whole afternoon takes up more room than one that lasted a minute.
The labels are yours to change. If "disgust" never fits and "overwhelmed" does, rename it — the colour and the river stay the same. There is no free-text mood picker and no list of a hundred adjectives to scroll through: twelve buttons, always in the same place, is what makes a tap take two seconds.
A day drawn as a river
Today's screen is a river that flows from 4 AM on the left to now on the right. Each feeling is a stream in its own colour; pleasant feelings stack on top and heavy ones below, so a day that leans upward literally reads lighter. The shape is the record — there is no number underneath it.
Forgot to log the morning? Tap the river at that moment and your next taps land there. Drag along the river to scrub back through the day and see what was there at ten past nine. A burst you regret can be undone with one tap, or by shaking the phone.
No streaks, no scores, no prompts
Tinge never shows how many days in a row you have logged, never averages your mood into a score and never asks you to reflect on why. A day with no taps is just a quiet day on the Wall, not a broken chain. The idea is that a diary you are not afraid of missing is one you keep for years.
If you want a nudge, turn on the daily reminder under Settings → Reminders and pick a time. The notification carries four quick-log buttons — joy, calm, anxiety, sadness — so you can answer it without opening the app. Skip it and nothing happens.
The Wall: a month as weather
The Wall stacks your days into miniature rivers with a 30-day tide curve of ups and downs. Pinch to zoom out and the Wall becomes a month grid, each day tinted by its strongest feeling, going back six months. Every day gets a name from its shape — Still Water, Spiral, Honeyed, Mixed Weather — or one you give it yourself.
Long-press a colour to attach a note or a photo to the moment you just logged; open any day to read its notes along its river, and share a single day as a card.
Log from the widget, Siri or the Action button
The Home Screen widget shows today's river with four quick-log buttons, in small and medium sizes. Siri logs a feeling by name ("Log Joy in Tinge"), the Action button can do the same, and Shortcuts can automate it. Tinge is free, has no account and no ads, and runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or later.
Frequently asked questions
Can I log more than one feeling at a time?
Yes. Tap as many colours as apply, in any order; each becomes its own stream in the river at that moment. Tap a colour repeatedly to make it bigger.
Can I add a feeling I forgot earlier in the day?
Yes. Tap the river at the moment you want, then tap the feeling; it lands at that time. On past days you pick the moment with the same pin. You cannot log into the future.
Does Tinge give me a mood score or a chart?
No score. The river and the Wall's 30-day tide curve show the shape of your days; the month grid tints each day by its strongest feeling. Nothing is rated out of ten.
Can I rename the twelve feelings?
Yes. Long-press a colour for a moment longer and give it your own label. The widget uses your labels too.
Is Tinge a medical or therapy app?
No. Tinge is a diary, not a clinical tool: it does not diagnose, treat or advise. If you are struggling, please talk to someone you trust or a professional.
