Maastricht holds six of Limburg's 31 Museumkaart museums: the Bonnefanten, the Fotomuseum aan het Vrijthof, the Natuurhistorisch Museum, Marres, Bureau Europa and the Maastricht Museum. The Roman south is covered by Het Romeins Museum in Heerlen and the Museum Romeinse Katakomben in Valkenburg, which also has the Fluweelengrot. Venlo has the Limburgs Museum and Museum van Bommel van Dam, Heerlen SCHUNCK Glaspaleis, Kerkrade the Discovery Museum. Castles and churches follow: Kasteel Hoensbroek, Buitenplaats Kasteel Wijlre, the Abdijkerk and Museum Thorn, and the Cuypershuis in Roermond. Two open-air museums, De Locht in Melderslo and Eynderhoof in Nederweert-Eind, round off the north.
