Privacy Policy

Overview

Mosey: Commute Traffic Alarm (“Mosey”, “we”, “our”) is an iOS app by TIT that helps you leave on time by monitoring traffic conditions for your saved commute routes. We take your privacy seriously and collect only the minimum data needed to provide the service.

Information We Collect

  • Device identifier. A randomly generated anonymous UUID stored on your device. Not linked to your Apple ID, name, or any personal information.
  • Route data. Origin and destination coordinates, arrival times, and schedule preferences you set for your commute routes. Sent to our server so we can monitor traffic and send you timely departure alerts.
  • Push notification token. Your device’s APNs token, used solely to deliver departure alerts and traffic updates to your device.
  • Location. Accessed only when you add a new route, to auto-fill your starting point. We do not track your location in the background.
  • Traffic snapshots. Anonymized ETA data collected during traffic monitoring to power your commute history, forecasts, and the optional after-commute summary and weekly recap.
  • Setup and preference signals. Whether notification and alarm permissions are granted, whether you tried the sample route and then added your own, the app version, the app’s language, your device’s time zone, and whether summaries are switched on. These are stored with the anonymous device identifier only, so we can schedule alerts in your time zone and language, honour your summary settings, and see whether setting up Mosey works. They contain no personal information.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or Apple ID.
  • We do not track your real-time location.
  • We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
  • We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties.

Third-Party Services

  • Apple MapKit. Used on your device to display maps, calculate driving ETAs, and show real-time traffic conditions. Route coordinates are sent to Apple. Apple’s privacy policy.
  • Apple Maps Server API. Used on our server to calculate driving ETAs for departure notifications. Only route coordinates are sent; no personal information is shared. Apple’s privacy policy.
  • OpenWeatherMap. Queried for weather conditions at your route’s origin to adjust departure times. Only coordinates are sent. OpenWeatherMap’s privacy policy.
  • RevenueCat. Used to manage optional support purchases. Transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store. RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs). Used to deliver departure alerts to your device.

Data Storage & Security

Your route data is stored on our server (Cloudflare Workers + Cloudflare D1 SQLite) to enable traffic monitoring and push notifications. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access is restricted to the application.

Your routes are also stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.

We do not use cookies or web tracking technologies.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time by going to Settings → Reset All Data in the app. This removes your routes, traffic history, and device registration from both your device and our server.

If you simply delete the app, your server-side data is automatically purged after a period of inactivity (within 90 days, and sooner if push notifications were never enabled).

Children’s Privacy

Mosey is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Mosey after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
