Privacy Policy

Tulp: Inburgering & KNM Prep (“Tulp”, “we”, “our”) is an iOS app from TIT, based in the Netherlands, for learning Dutch vocabulary and practising for the KNM exam. Tulp collects no personal data.

There is no account and no sign-in. The app contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no third-party SDKs, and it sends no data to TIT or to anyone else. On the App Store its privacy label is Data Not Collected.

• Your study progress: the words and phrases you have studied and when they are due again, the words you saved to My words, your grammar lessons, your KNM answers, wrong-answer book, favourites and mock-exam results, your streak and statistics.
• Your settings: the app’s language, your level, daily goals, reminder time and audio settings.

All of this is stored only on your iPhone. Tulp doesn’t sync it to iCloud or to any server, and we never see it. Like any app’s data, it is included in your device’s own backup (iCloud Backup or a backup on your computer) if you have one turned on.

If you turn on the daily reminder, Tulp asks iOS for permission to show notifications and schedules them on your device. No push service or server is involved.

Dutch words and sentences are spoken by the voices built into iOS, on your device. No text is sent anywhere to be spoken.

Each KNM question links to an official source, such as a government website, and you can look up a word on Wiktionary. These links open in your browser; the website you open sees your visit, as with any website, under its own privacy policy. Tulp sends it nothing else.

Apple provides the App Store, downloads and updates under Apple’s privacy policy. If you have chosen in your device’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may share crash reports and anonymised statistics with us; they don’t identify you.

Delete the app and all of Tulp’s data on that device is deleted with it. To start over without deleting the app, use Me → Reset all progress, which erases your word reviews, KNM answers and exam history. Neither can be undone.

Tulp collects no personal data from anyone, children included.

Because Tulp sends us no data, we hold none about you through the app. If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you, and you can ask us to delete them. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

We may update this policy. Changes are reflected in the “Last updated” date above, and if Tulp ever starts collecting data, this policy will say so before that version is released.
