Frequently asked questions
Where do the deals come from?
DealLens compiles current promotions from publicly available Dutch supermarket sources — Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Dirk, ALDI, Lidl, and several folder-based retailers — and refreshes them regularly. Prices and validity come straight from those sources, so occasional gaps or changes can happen.
Do I need an account?
No. DealLens has no account and no login. Everything works immediately when you open the app, and your favourites, lists, and preferences stay on your device.
How do I get price-drop notifications?
- Favourite a product or follow a brand you care about.
- Allow notifications when the app asks.
- DealLens then watches new promotions and alerts you when a followed item drops in price or a followed brand has a new deal.
I'm not getting notifications
- Make sure notifications are allowed: iOS Settings → DealLens → Notifications.
- You need to have favourited at least one product or followed a brand — notifications are based on what you follow.
- Open the app once so it can sync your follows with the server.
How do I delete my data?
Open DealLens → Profile → Privacy → Delete push data. This removes the APNs token, your favourite product codes, and followed-brand keys from our server. Local preferences stay on your device and are removed when you delete the app. There is no account to close because there is no account.
Why are product and brand names in Dutch?
The deal data comes from Dutch retailers, so product names and brand labels stay in their original Dutch. You can switch the app interface between English and Dutch in Profile — the product data itself stays as published.
Do I have to pay?
No. DealLens is free and has no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
A deal looks wrong or expired
Deals are sourced from retailer promotions and can change or expire between refreshes. DealLens validates dates and prices before publishing a feed, but mistakes at the source can slip through. Always confirm the price in-store, and feel free to email us if something looks consistently off.
