Is this deal really cheap? 90 days of price history

A red sticker says 25% off; it does not say off what, or whether the same product was cheaper three weeks ago. DealLens keeps a rolling 90-day price history for every product at every store it tracks, so you can see whether today's price is a genuine low or just the usual price with a new label.

Ninety days, per product and per store

Every time the feed is rebuilt, the price each product is actually sold at that day, at each store, is recorded. A product page shows that history as a small chart with the lowest point marked, so you see whether today's offer is the same price as the last promotion or genuinely lower. The history is kept per store: Jumbo's series and Dirk's are separate.

The history starts the day a product first appears in the feed, and covers the last 90 days. DealLens does not have prices from before it started tracking, and does not claim to.

The lowest-in-90-days badge

When a price is at its lowest point in the last 90 days, the deal card says so. That badge is what separates a real low from a routine rotation, and it feeds into the ranking: a product at a genuine low ranks above one with a bigger sticker that was cheaper last month.

The badge counts the days DealLens actually has data for: a product tracked for three weeks says lowest in 21 days, not 90. In the ranking, a price only counts as a historic low once there are at least 30 days to compare it against.

An alert when a favourite drops

Favourite a product and DealLens remembers the price you last saw. When the feed is rebuilt and that product is cheaper somewhere, a banner on the Today tab lists it. Allow notifications and you also get a push message for a favourite that drops in price or a brand you follow that has a new promotion — only for those, nothing else.

Following a brand is one tap on a product page. Pause the alerts for a brand when you have enough coffee, and they stop until you turn them back on.

What leaves your phone, and what does not

Price history and the badge are computed on the server from public retailer data and read by the app; nothing about you is involved. If you allow notifications, the push server keeps your notification token and the barcodes and brand keys you follow, so it can check them against each new feed. That is all it keeps, and Profile → Privacy → Delete push data removes it.

Favourites that have no barcode — most folder items — are matched inside the app and show the in-app banner, but cannot trigger a push message. The product page says which it is.

Frequently asked questions

How far back does the price history go?

90 days, per product and per store, starting the day the product first appeared in the feed. There is no history from before DealLens tracked a product.

Is the badge reliable for a product that is new in the app?

It says how many days it is based on. A new product has a short history, and the badge says so; the ranking waits for 30 days of data before it treats a price as a historic low.

Will I get a notification for every deal?

No. Notifications are only for products you have favourited and brands you follow, and only when you have allowed them. The feed itself never pushes anything.

Is the price history free?

Yes. It is part of the free app, with no premium tier.
